It was 9 PM and I was talking to Pedro about the gray Porsche 911 sports car parked across the street. Pedro was convinced that the owner of the car probably had a very huge sum of money to invest in a really nice business so he did not believe me when I told him that Arnel, the owner of the car, came from a very poor family and started his business with zero money.
After a while trying to convince Pedro he finally conceded but added that Arnel has to have really good education.
But once more he was wrong. Arnel did not even go to college and is definitely not an intelligent student during his high school days.
Intrigued about Arnel’s story, Pedro ask me how he did it.
My reply was short and simple. I told him, “he believed.”
Arnel believed that he can get himself out of poverty and focused all of his energy to do just that. It was not a short journey nor was it an easy one but because he believed, he eventually achieved it.
The point that I’m trying to make is simple – no matter how hard you try to accomplish something, if you do not believe 100% that you can do it then you will not be able to do it. Simple as that.
